Dr Michael Tigges, LL.M., is a founding and senior partner at the law firm. He advises smaller and medium-sized companies in the framework of company purchases and participations. Dr Tigges has been dealing intensively since the mid-1990s with all of the legal aspects of venture capital financing. Other focal points of his work lie in the area of the law of shares and insolvency law.

Other Fields of Activity

Dr Tigges is Chair of the Supervisory Board or Advisory Board in several companies; inter alia he is Chair of the Committee entitled “Selbstständigkeit” (self-employment), of the VDI (Association of German Engineers), and a member of the panel of experts at Private Equity Forum NRW e. V. Furthermore, Dr Tigges is a member of the board of trustees of the Business Angels Agentur Ruhr e. V. and is also a co-host of the Venture Capital Round Table held in Düsseldorf each month.

CV

Dr Tigges has been admitted to practise as a lawyer in Düsseldorf since 1986 and has worked since then at TIGGES Rechtsanwälte and its predecessor law firms. He studied law in Münster, where he also earned his PhD on the subject “History and development of insurance monitoring”. In the course of his postgraduate studies in “Mergers and acquisitions”, Dr Tigges wrote his masters thesis on the subject of “Due diligence and warranty in company purchase”.
