Area of Specialisation

Michael Niermann is a senior partner at the law firm and a special counsel for labour law, specialised in all questions ranging from the first job interview to the negotiation of termination solutions or litigation. Predominantly, he advises medium sized companies and their management personnel on the fields of individual and collective labour law. His main topics, therefore, include legal advice to avoid litigation, but also counsel in disputes with shop councils or concerning collective bargaining law.

As a member of the Working Groups for Specialised Counsels for Labour Law as well as of the Flying Lawyers and Tax Advisers he attends bi-monthly meetings with contributors out of other subject areas. Thus, Michael Niermann contributes to an exchange of knowledge and information on a regular and up-to-date basis.

Relying on his personal experience, Michael Niermann is a competent partner for pilots in all legal affairs, regarding reliability testing, obtaining and extending of licenses as well as legal representation at Federal and National Aviation Authorities including summary and criminal proceedings.

Besides his counselling activity, Michael Niermann incidentally is a speaker, e. g. at events of the chamber of industry and commerce regarding current issues of labour law as well as other general topics.

CV

Michael Niermann joined TIGGES Rechtsanwälte law firm in 2002. He studied law at the University of Bielefeld, with a commercial law specialisation and was admitted to practise as a lawyer in 1985. Then, he started working in law firms with a focus on commercial law which was followed by a rather long period of working in the tax department of KPMG DTG in Düsseldorf and their legal counselling department. Several years as head legal advisor at an automobile importer followed. In 1991 he formed a joint practice called "Tönjes Niermann Hartmann", attorneys at law, Düsseldorf.
